I was born in Granada (Spain) in 1982. I got a PhD in Computer Science in 2010 by the University of Granada, Spain. Previously, in 2005 I got a 5-years degree in Computer Science (Ingeniería informática in Spanish). My PhD was supported by the National Science Ministery of Spain, with a FPU predoctoral grant.

Since September 2017, I am a Senior Data Scientist at BBVA Spain, in Madrid. From March 2015 to September 2017 I worked at Experian's DataLab in London as a data scientist. I am still an active scientist, working in computational biology and applications of machine learning to medicine and biological sciences. You can have a look at my publication list and my Google scholar profile!

Prior to that, I was a postdoc (September 2010 to March 2015) at the Department of Computer Science of the Royal Holloway, University of London, where I worked in Prof. Alberto Paccanaro's lab. My research interests lie within computational biology and bioinformatics.

I was previously (from 2006 to 2010) a member of the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (DECSAI) of the University of Granada, and of the Uncertainty Treatment on Artificial Intelligence group (UTAI). In 2013 (March and April) I was a postdoctoral research fellow in Cornell University, at the Department of Biological Statistics and Computational Biology, in Haiyuan Yu's lab. During 2008 (September to December) I was a Visiting Research Fellow at the at the Laboratoire d'Informatique de Paris 6 (LIP6), at the University Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris VI at Paris (France).
