VIDA: A DATABASE SYSTEM TO ORGANIZE VIRUS GENES
Dr Mar Albà, Virus Genomics and Bioinformatics, Wohl Virion Centre, University College London

Abstract: A large amount of genome and protein sequence information is now available in the public sequence repositories. The data however is poorly organised and specialised systems need to be develop to render it useful. We have focused on the organization of virus sequences on the basis of amino acid similarity between the proteins and created a Virus Database, VIDA, that integrates different types of biological information.
